Housing and Tenant Rights: One of my many assignments as a Deputy Public Defender was to staff the county's homeless outreach court where I helped hundreds of clients from the unhoused population obtain services and navigate their way out of the criminal justice system for minor infractions.

Last year, I joined a civil law firm as a trial attorney prosecuting habitability and related personal injury claims on behalf of tenants. I took and defended numerous depositions, conducted mediations, and negotiated settlements.

Trial Lawyer: Prior to joining the civil firm, I enjoyed a 16-year career as an Orange County Deputy Public Defender performing over 45 jury trials. I focused my career cultivating the skills that matter in real jury trials: the ability to connect with and teach jurors, public speaking, persuasive storytelling, and relentless cross-examination.

I earned the position of Senior Deputy Public Defender and was assigned to the felony panel for the last 5 years of my career. I handled the most serious and violent felonies in the county, performing multiple homicide trials to verdict and assisted the office in training new attorneys on trial advocacy.

Personal Life: I am a devoted husband and father of two daughters. I am a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and was once a decent competitor and a better instructor. Currently, I enjoy traveling with my family, road cycling, mountain biking, meditating, consuming books on mindset, stoicism, and persuasion.
