Housing and Tenant Rights: One of my assignments as a Deputy Public Defender was to staff the county's homeless outreach court where I helped hundreds of clients from the unhoused population obtain services and navigate their way out of the criminal system for minor infractions.

Recently, I joined a civil firm as a litigation attorney prosecuting habitability and related personal injury claims on behalf of tenants. I took and defended depositions, conducted mediations, and negotiated settlements.

Trial Lawyer: Prior to joining the civil firm, I enjoyed a 16-year career as an Orange County Deputy Public Defender. I focused my career cultivating the skills that matter in real jury trials: the ability to connect with and teach jurors, public speaking, persuasive storytelling, and relentless cross-examination.

I have tried 81 trials (60 jury and 21 bench), over 260 felony preliminary hearings, and over 50 hearings for parole and probation violations.

I earned the position of Senior Deputy Public Defender and assigned to the felony panel for the last 5 years of my career. I handled the most serious and violent felonies in the county. I performed jury trials on homicides and sex crimes to verdict. I also helped the office train new attorneys in trial advocacy.

My Firm: I left the civil law firm to practice law my way, with integrity and sound trial-focused fundamentals. The quality of representation will always outweigh the quantity of cases. Every case will be thoroughly vetted for merit and I will never resort to baseless tactics.

Collaboration: As a solo practitioner, I work collaboratively with other law firms taking and defending their depositions or co-counseling on their cases that are headed for jury trial.

Personal Life: I am a devoted husband and father of two daughters. I am a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu where I was once a competitor and instructor. I am a decent mountain biker, avid meditator, and frequent traveler.
